CBRE again leads nation in commercial sales
South Florida Business Journal - 7:57 PM EDT Monday, April 16, 2007
For the fourth year in a row, National Real Estate Investor has ranked CB Richard Ellis as the top brokerage firm among the 25 largest in the world.
The ranking, featured in the publication's April issue, is based on the aggregate value of sales and leasing transactions completed in 2006.
Los Angeles-based CBRE was responsible for more than $224.6 billion of global sales and leasing transactions in 2006. That total was nearly three times that of the nearest competitor and more than the second-, third- and fourth-ranked firms combined. The latest figures include 2006 transaction activity for Trammell Crow Co., which CBRE acquired in December.
National Real Estate Investor is a business magazine for all classes of commercial real estate that covers trends in the real estate markets.
In the South Florida Business Journal's most recent list of largest commercial real estate brokerages, published June 16, CBRE ranked No.1 with local volume of $3.88 billion sold and $498 million leased.
The company's South Florida square footage totaled 28.7 million square feet sold and 6.9 million square feet leased.
Locally, CBRE had 80 brokers in four offices.
