Manufacturing Career Passport Program
The Career Passport is a training program designed to teach common manufacturing skills, thereby providing to the manufacturing employer a skilled worker and the worker skills upgrade and a career path. Skills taught are based on common occupations and common skill sets throughout the manufacturing industry. A worker trained in the common skill sets will be able to transfer to another employer within the industry to continue and/or advance his career. Seeing documentation of this standardized training, employers will be better able to select a job seeker with the proper qualifications. Job seekers with a “Career Passport” will have a better chance of employment within the industry and employers will hire a skilled worker with a better chance of success within the company. The program is a "win-win" and benefits everyone.
Program Highlights:
- Identified manufacturing occupations with career paths that have transferable skills among sectors and employers
- Curriculum for skills training developed based on our collaboration with employers so that training offered will meet their needs
- Coordinate and deliver the training programs, such as Lean Systems, Supervisory and Leadership, Best Operational Practices (BOP) & more.
- Provide a certificate of completion and stamp worker passport for easy identification of their skills sets
- Promote the Career Passport, as a training program unique to the manufacturing industry that will provide employers with a workforce with the core skills needed for success within the company.
- A core group of employers who utilize the ‘Passport to Success’ program so employees can be transferred between those companies if they need to restructure and downsizing is necessary.
