FHP Manufacturing has been a leading maker of water source heat pumps for the commercial and residential construction industry since 1969. Their 100,000 square foot ISO 9000 certified facility in Ft. Lauderdale is in the process of significant lean transformations that is improving efficiencies and productivity throughout the factory. Their products help heat such famous buildings as the Empire State Building, Sawgrass Mills Mall and the World Trade Center in Quito, Ecuador, and are renown for being an environmentally sound approach to temperature control.
This tour will feature shop floor examples of how FHP applied the principles of lean manufacturing to improve their manufacturing processes. Attendees will see how the 150 employees of FHP design, build, and deliver mass produced as well as customized solutions.
