“manufacturing for the future”

2nd Annual HR Conference & Expo

September 14, 2006
8:00 am - 4:30 pm

The Westin, Ft. Lauderdale

400 Corporate Drive
Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33334

We are proud to announce Special Agent Liz Robert as the keynote speaker for the day.

Topic: Terrorism and HR?
"How can HR support law enforcement's fight against terrorism?"

Within a company, normally the human resource department is the source where employees seek guidance and direction. Most of the time unusual behavior by a co-worker or suspicious activities will be reported to HR. If and when you are approached by an employee who has concerns, would you know what steps to take to resolve the matter in the most non-threatening and discrete manner.  The question is "How can HR support law enforcement's fight against terrorism?"

Some questions to consider:

  • What behavior should you look for?
  • To whom should you channel intelligence?
  • Are there new areas to look at in background checks for new employees?
  • Are there new laws that might provide added protection for companies in fighting terrorism?
  • Does "homegrown" terrorism show up within companies?
  • What are law enforcement agencies dong to fight terrorism in which the private sector might help?

The answer: Special Agent Robert will give a compelling presentation to answer these and other questions to get the day started.

The keynote is followed by a panel discussion on Recruiting and Retention of Manufacturing in South Florida, networking opportunities, four afternoon breakout sessions, and FPL Disaster Preparedness. The day's agenda is below with details about each session.

Please clear your calendar and plan to attend this one-day conference dedicated to those in the Human Resources field. Your registration fee includes access to all breakout sessions, breakfast, lunch and plenary sessions for the day.
