Manufacturing Employee of the Year
Step 1
The first step in the process is to submit a completed nomination form. The completed nomination form will automatically trigger the employee for consideration for the Manufacturing Employee of the Year. There are five categories to which an employee can be nominated, and they are all based on the different job functions within a company:
- Administrative
- Engineering/Information Technology (IT)
- Finance
- Production
- Sales
Step 2
The critical component of the nomination form is the three questions on the form:
-
Please highlight the employee’s top accomplishments during the year 2008
-
Please identify one instance where this employee acted beyond the call of duty during the year 2008
-
Please indicate why you are nominating this employee
The SFMA relies upon these responses in determining which employees will ultimately be chosen. The SFMA reserves the right to consolidate categories if it is necessary based on the number of nominations received.
Step 3
It is important to forward a picture of the nominee (electronically is preferred) to the SFMA along with a brief bio (listing job title, years with company, and responsibilities). The picture, along with elements of the bio and the nomination language, will be used to profile the nominee on both the SFMA web site and the publication put together for the event.
Step 4
The SFMA brings together special judges with a Human Resources focus. They read each application in each category and determine a winner and runner-up.
Step 5
Each nominee is recognized and presented a plaque at the Recognition of Excellence Banquet on March 12th. The winners and runners-up are also announced that evening.
