Performance Excellence Showcase
February 15, 2007
CALLING ALL QUALITY TEAMS!
 |
The 17th Annual Performance Excellence Showcase is right around the corner. Don’t pass up a terrific opportunity to participate. Showcase your team or your storyboard. Take a morning seminar, network with participants from all business sectors. |
The Performance Excellence Showcase provides a public forum for teams to demonstrate the principles and techniques of improving quality through employee participation. Each year this one day event provides an opportunity to showcase best practices in process improvement. What makes this event so successful is the benchmarking and learning that attendees gain from the Storyboards and Team presentations.

Skilled teams provide a foundation to organizations in their pursuit of performance excellence and their ability to meet future challenges. Teams give fun presentations on projects that produced breakthrough gains for their organizations. Written team applications are judged based on set criteria and then each team has 10 minutes to tell their story. Team presentations cover the scope of their project, the work they did to craft a solution, and the final results. The winning team represents South Florida Region 6 at the statewide showcase at the 2007 Florida Sterling Quality Conference. Judging criteria and application templates are available on the Showcase website.

Have a great improvement story but not ready to participate in the team competition? Teams may also choose to showcase their improvements on Storyboards.Last year we had over 15 storyboards competing for awards. This year Storyboards will be judged together with the same or similar businesses: education, healthcare, government, manufacturing and service. These may change based on participation. While there is no application required for Storyboards, criteria for judging is available on the Showcase website.

Want to participate but not part of a team? Attend one of two outstanding Seminars in the morning.
- FISH: A workshop designed around the inspiring story of Seattle’s World Famous Pike Place Fish Market where employees have made a personal choice to bring amazing passion, playfulness, commitment and a positive attitude to their work everyday. This philosophy has made an ordinary fish market extraordinarily successful.
- ActiveStrategy: Driving Strategic Alignment and Accountability through Balanced Scorecards. This session teaches the basics of building a more predictive management system, based on a Balanced Scorecard framework, which helps organizations execute strategy effectively, ensure accountability and focus limited resources on the most important strategic goals.
