20th Annual "Manufacturing Excellence" Scholarship Golf Tournament Providing Scholarships to child and/or sibling of member company employees Deer Creek Golf Club May 7, 2007

The 2007 SFMA Annual Golf Tournament will be our 20th Annual! In addition to an afternoon of fun, the proceeds from the tournament provides scholarships to member company employees' children and/or siblings who are high school seniors and wish to pursue a career in manufacturing. To date, SFMA has awarded more than $63,000 in scholarships.

The Calvin E. Moore Memorial Scholarship is in memory of one of our past chairman. Calvin was very interested in teaching and in educational advancement. We know he would be please to have a scholarship in his memory.

SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA:

• Member company employee child and/or sibling 
• High School senior
• 3.0 GPA or higher
• Accepted at a Florida college/university/technical school
• Pursuing a career in a manufacturing field (engineering, computer science, business administration or a mechanical/technical certification)

Please make your employees aware of the availability of these scholarships. If a member company employee feels their child and/or sibling might qualify for the SFMA Scholarship the application should be completed by the scholarship applicant and mailed directly to our offices no later than April 27, 2007. Applications received after April 27th will not be considered. Personal interviews will be scheduled for the semi-finalists. Winners will be notified before the May 7th Tournament and invited to attend the Tournament Banquet with their parents to receive the $1,000 scholarship award.

The theme for this year's Tournament is "Manufacturing Excellence" chosen in an effort to retain young talent interested in manufacturing in the South Florida area. The money raised from this tournament will go toward scholarships to benefit those young adults interested in manufacturing as a career.

Tournament Schedule

Entries must be received by May 1, 2007. Contributions to the SFMA Scholarship Golf Tournament are not deductible as a charitable contribution for Federal Income Tax purposes, but may be deducted as an ordinary business expense.
