Six Sigma Black Belt
Six Sigma Black Belt - training is designed for management level personnel who will perform or facilitate process analysis and improvement activities, and who will be conducting or supporting business process data collection and analysis. Technical backgrounds and/or familiarity with basic algebra are helpful. It provides training in process analysis and improvement techniques, project management, team facilitation skills, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Designed Experiments (DOE), and Statistics.
The entire Body of Knowledge for the American Society for Quality (ASQ) - Certified Six Sigma Black Belt (CSSBB) - exam is covered in this program.)
FOR CERTIFICATION: Participants seeking Six Sigma Black Belt certification must successfully complete and present the project details from a strategically-linked process improvement project, a Designed Experiment, and an application of Statistical Process Control. In addition, several statistical analyses are required, as well as the successful completion of a statistical tools competency exam. They must also attend all 13 days of training as well as present their projects at both a project Rehearsal / Evaluation day (where projects will be evaluated for successful completion and any pending issues identified), and a Presentation / Graduation day (where all successfully completed projects will be presented).
(NOTE: Completion of a Black Belt project will satisfy one of the two projects required to take the ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt exam.)
COMPUTER / SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS: Black Belt participants will be provided with a free 30 day demo version of a statistical software package for use during training. (Minitab is the software currently used.) Since competency with the software is required for successful completion of the program, Black Belt candidates must have access to a laptop they can use and bring to class throughout the program.
Six Sigma Green Belt
Six Sigma Green Belt certification is designed for people who will perform or facilitate process analysis and improvement activities. It is appropriate for personnel from all levels and all areas of the organization. The Body of Knowledge for the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA) exam is covered in this program. The exam is not included.
One day of on-site six sigma mentoring will be provided to participant companies for each participant in the workshop. These days will be scheduled separately to be completed anytime during the span of the workshop and within 30 days of the end of the workshop. The purpose of mentoring is to provide hands-on assistance and guidance with projects and statistical process control concepts.
FOR CERTIFICATION: Participants seeking Six Sigma Green Belt certification must successfully complete and present the project details from a strategically-linked process improvement project and an application of Statistical Process Control. They must also attend training days and present their projects for evaluation and feedback.
PREREQUISITE: Participants seeking Six Sigma Green Belt certification should be capable in basic mathematics skills, able to use a calculator, and charts and graphs.
