Past participants have achieved phenomenal results including: 50% reduction in inventory, 30% reduction in lead times, 70% improvement in through-put, and 50% improvement in on-time delivery
There are six sessions to this series.
Intermediate
This program is designed for those people working within their company’s supply chain who have the basic knowledge of materials management. Course materials will cover the concepts, techniques, and proper processes of supply chain theory. Major topics covered during this program will be:
- Bills of Material: Learn how BOMs are structured, how to create and when to use phantom bills, modular bills, multi level bills, as well as single level BOMs. Instruction will be delivered and students will perform exercises to practice these concepts.
- Inventory Management:Develop the basic methods of planning and controlling a firm’s largest asset from managing suppliers, the ordering and delivering of raw materials, and storing and delivering of finished goods through the distribution channels. This segment will provide a broad overview of the basic concepts and good inventory management strategies.
- Cycle Counting: learn how to develop or improve a cycle counting program. Course will emphasize that finding and fixing the cause of errors is the real purpose of cycle counting. Methods on selecting items, the use of proper accounting techniques, reconciling open transactions and errors in count, and reporting methods will be included.
- MRP: how requirements are calculated and how to read and act on common action and exception messages.
This program will be structured to encourage participation to allow the participants to take their knowledge of these concepts to the next level. Time will be allowed for attendees to introduce specific issues/opportunities that they have in their company’s supply chain with the intent to introduce discussion as well as suggested resolutions.
