Founded by a group of realtors who understood the importance of manufacturing to a strong economy the South Florida Manufacturers Association (SFMA) has served manufacturers and related industries for almost 50 years. A non-profit trade association, the mission of the SFMA has remained constant though out its history - to promote the growth and economic well being of the regions manufacturers by acting as a unified force, representing common interests and providing needed benefits and services.

Membership in SFMA is company based allowing all employees of member companies to participate in activities.
To keep the focus on manufacturing, SFMA membership consists of at least 70% manufacturers. The Association's offices are located in Pompano Beach - the middle of the geographic area of Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties.
SFMA's advocacy in Tallahassee, in partnership with the Manufacturers Association of Florida, has help members save millions of dollars in sales tax exemptions and training grant funding. SFMA is continuing its efforts to make Florida a state that fosters manufacturing growth all the while providing needed services, workforce development and networking opportunities.
SFMA is governed by a Board of Directors. Association by-laws allow for the Board to have up to 30 members, each elected to a term of 3 years by the membership. |

The three year terms are staggered so that 1/3 of the board rotates each year and are announced at the Annual Meeting in September. Board members must be employees of member companies in good standing. The Board then selects the officers. You can learn more about our board members here.
Each board member contributes a great deal of time and expertise to assure the smooth running of the Association. The Board Meetings are a place where leaders come together to make leadership decisions affecting the manufacturing industry.
