To promote the growth and economic well being of the region's manufacturing industry, to be its unifying force, to represent its common interests and to provide to its members needed services and resources
The South Florida Manufacturers Association (SFMA) provides manufacturers access to the latest technology, theories, and ideas in manufacturing; thereby bringing together a diverse group of manufacturing companies interested in benchmarking, sharing ideas, and learning how to be the best.
The SFMA strives to bring the manufacturing community together, showcase the industry's strengths, encourage business activity, and demonstrate that manufacturing in South Florida isn't just surviving - it's world class!
The SFMA is now embarked on a three-part strategy to raise awareness and understanding about modern-day manufacturing, to generate far more favorable government policies, and encourage greater interest in manufacturing careers. It includes:
- a communications and public relations awareness campaign that will change attitudes about manufacturing through print, radio and television
- building intellectual support and raising understanding among policymakers, the media, educators and job seekers about manufacturing's contributions to the quality of life, the challenges facing the industry and its exceptional career opportunities
- among students - to consider manufacturing as a career
The SFMA's mission is to find and promote workforce solutions for manufacturers in a global economy, to meet the needs of South Florida manufacturers for training, education and career enhancement programs to improve workforce knowledge, skills and abilities.
